Aalen – Thermal Baths, Mine and Castle – The "Must Do" Highlights of Aalen
The Limes-Thermen thermal pools and spa invite you to unwind, relax and enjoy in antique roman ambience. The pools are fed by thermal mineral water approximately 34°C warm, welling up from a depth of 600 meters. A Kneipp-facility, a Tepidarium, colored light treatment rooms, saunas, solariums, a Roman-Irish steam bath and a physiotherapy section offering medical gymnastics, complete the wide range of facilities of the Limes-Thermen.
The train of the “Tiefer Stollen” underground mine tour will take you 400 meters underground to places where iron ore was once extracted. Inside the mountain, visitors will watch a multi-vision show and will then be taken on an 800 meter long guided tour through thrilling tunnels, shafts and passages.
Schloss Fachsenfeld is a romantic castle, dating back to the 16th century with an Art Nouveau library and art galleries housing a collection of Swabian impressionists and changing art exhibitions. The castle garden is regarded a botanical gem and ranks among the ten most beautiful botanical gardens in Germany.
