Only few kilometers away from Aalen, you find the suburb of Unterkochen. It is surrounded by high, wooded mountains and lies in one of the most beautiful and scenic ranges of the eastern Swabian mountains (Ostalb).
Steep white rocks, deciduous forests and juniper heaths, as well as valley clefts with springs and green meadows shape the landscape.
The origin of the Weiße (white) Kocher spring at the foot of the Härtsfeld has a delightful, natural beauty. As the stream flows through town, it joins the Schwarze (black) Kocher.
